Dress Code

Our dress code was established to promote the instructor’s observation of correct technique. Hair should be worn off the face and neck, and in a bun for all ballet classes. We do not require specific colors for each level. We celebrate all body shapes and sizes and encourage each dancer to find a leotard that fits their shape best. All students are required to have at least one black leotard. During studio run throughs, dancers should wear their black leotard so the instructors can view a clean, cohesive rehearsal.

BALLET: Students must wear a solid-colored leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers (canvas or leather). Hair must be in a bun. Students may wear a skirt of any color. Tan or black sports bras may be worn.

JAZZ/TAP/CONTEMPORARY: Students may wear two options: a solid colored leotard, tan tights, and black booty shorts OR solid colored leggings and a tank top. Students are not allowed to wear shorts or a baggy t-shirt. Students can wear tan jazz shoes or half-soles for jazz and contemporary. For tap, students will wear their tap shoes.

HIP HOP: Students can wear comfortable clothing that is not too baggy. Clean tennis shoes or jazz shoes may be worn.
