Student of the Month
maggie
We are so happy for Maggie, our Company member Student of the Month! Maggie is 17 years old and is a Senior at Bishop McGuinness High School. Maggie has been a beloved member of our studio for many years, and we are extremely proud of all her accomplishments. She began as a quiet, shy student and has developed into a confident dancer who shines on stage. Maggie is able to portray a wide variety of characters on stage, showcasing her acting abilities. Maggie, your BPAC family is proud of your excellence in dance.
Here is what Maggie said about why she likes to dance:
“I like dancing because I can really express myself with motions instead of with words. I just love it! My favorite style of dance is contemporary because I can really feel the music and I just love the lines and flexed feet with contemporary. I like dancing at BPAC because of the community. I have with amazing friends and amazing teachers here.”
Ava
Ava is our Level 1 representative for Student of the Month. Ava is in the 7th grade and attends Lewisville Middle School. Ava has a desire to improve her technique and asks for feedback in class to apply corrections. She takes initiative by practicing her choreography in her spare time. Ava has a vibrant and exuberant personality that lifts the atmosphere in the studio.
When asked why she loves to dance, Ava said: “I love to dance because dance helps me express my emotions without using words. I love performing on stage with all my friends and learning new dances. My favorite style of dance is jazz. I just love the music and how upbeat it is. It lifts my mood every time I do a jazz dance. I started dancing at BPAC when I was three and I’ve made so many friends and amazing memories. BPAC is like a second home to me. Every time I come to dance it feels like a safe space where I can just be myself and no one is judging me.”
blakely
Blakely is a Level 2 dancer and is excited to be Student of the Month! Blakely is seven years old and takes classes in acro, ballet, jazz, and tap. Blakely’s kindness and caring nature shine just as brightly as her smile. Her love for dance radiates as she performs on stage.”
Here’s what Blakely said about dance: “I love to dance because it brings me joy. I like jazz dance because you get to be sassy. I like wearing costumes; they’re really pretty. I like dancing at BPAC because it’s fun.”
EDIE REES
The spotlight is on this sweet dancer, Edie Rees. Edie Rees is 5 years old and is a member of our Level 3 class. She is an attentive listener to her teachers. She shows kindness to her classmates by giving them a thumbs up or a heart symbol when they dance across the floor.
Edie Rees loves dance because “I like to play with my friends. My favorite style of dance is ballet because you can do plies and passés.”
Mary
Last but not least, Mary is our Preschool representative for Student of the Month! Mary is a vibrant and energetic dancer. She is bubbly and full of life, always keeping the class feeling upbeat. She loves to learn new dance moves in class!
Mary said this about dancing: “I love to dance because I am a dancer. I can’t wait to do The Nutcracker show! I like doing the mouse dance with our costumes. I like to jump and to spin.”
