Makenzie is 16 years old and attends Reagan High School. Makenzie has been a beloved member of our studio since she was three years old, and we are extremely proud of all her accomplishments. She began as a quiet, shy student and has developed into a confident dancer who shines on stage. Makenzie has phenomenal musicality and displays that skill through her tap-dancing skills. She is a reliable student and is always on time and remembers choreography from week to week. Makenzie, your BPAC family is proud of your excellence in dance. Here is what Makenzie said about why she likes to dance: “I like to dance because it’s a good way to express myself without having to use words. All of the styles can display a range of emotions just by changing the music you pair it with and the motion you do making it truly special. My favorite style of dance is tap because of the rhythm and feeling. When you’re dancing tap, you’re so much more grounded and integrated into your moves than any other style. I like dancing at BPAC because of the community I feel with the other dancers. Bailey is in the 7th grade and attends Lewisville Middle School. Bailey comes to class early to warm-up, stretch, and review her choreography. She has spent countless hours improving her ballet technique. Most recently, she received her first pair of pointe shoes! We are proud of her hard work! Meghan Wham Owner/Artistic Director Ballet/Pointe/Jazz/Contemporary/Hip-Hop/Tap Meghan Wham was born and raised in Winston-Salem. She began dancing at the age of three at the Ballet and Performing Arts Centre under Natalie Mizell-Calvano. While studying at Queens University of Charlotte, Meghan joined the Queens Dance Club. She became the ballet and lyrical choreographer and choreographed pieces for multiple shows at Queens. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. Meghan taught second grade for ten years in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. During her time in education, Meghan taught jazz, ballet, contemporary, and hip-hop classes at BPAC. Meghan has won two Choreography Awards at Bravo Competition and Star Talent Competition. One was for a jazz piece entitled “Bossa Nova” inspired by Elvis Presley. The other was entitled “A Good Day for Dreaming” in honor of her late grandfather. In August of 2023, Meghan became the new owner of The Ballet and Performing Arts Centre. Natalie is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet & Modern Dance. She attended Meredith College for two years and was also a member of the Meredith Dance Theater. She studied at the Raleigh School of Ballet, Greensboro Ballet & UNCSA. She has had the honor of working with Rick McCullough, Jan Van Dyke, John Gamble, Carol Richard, Liz Lerman and Jack Arnold to name a few. Along with her degree in dance, Natalie has also taught in various studios throughout NC. In 1997, she received a grant through Smart Start with which she developed a creative movement program for preschoolers called "Storybook Dancing". She has also been the director of dance at Forsyth Country Day School Summer Quest program. In 1998, she was the Owner & Artistic director at Sandhills Dance and Performing Arts where she staged full productions such as "The Nutcracker,” “Sleeping Beauty” and "Cinderella". She produces the full length ballet, The Nutcracker annually at Reynolds Auditorium. After completing her training, she joined Richmond Ballet’s second company. Following two years in the second company, Stamos joined Richmond Ballet’s main company where she danced for seven more seasons before retiring from the stage in 2021. At Richmond Ballet, Stamos had the opportunity to perform a wide variety of classical and contemporary works across Virginia, North Carolina, NYC and China. During her professional career, Stamos earned a B.S. in Health Science from Florida Gulf Coast University graduating summa cum laude. Prior to her time at BPAC, she practiced gymnastics and acrobatics at Salem Gymnastics for 8 years and competed in dance-acro with Vision Gymnastics out of Charlotte for a year. Caroline went on to pursue a Dance minor at Appalachian State University, where she also worked as an instructor at SOLE Impacts, a local studio. There, she taught and assisted in a variety of styles, including acrobatics, hip hop, ballet, and jazz. Over her 20 years of movement training, she has explored and developed skills in ballet and pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and acrobatics. In addition to her dance career, Caroline earned a B.S. in Exercise Science from Appalachian State, graduating magna cum laude in 2025. She is pursuing a BFA in Dance with a concentration in choreography and performance, K-12 teaching licensure, a Pilates certification, and a minor in Technical Theater. Connie brings a versatile background in a wide range of styles and enjoys working with dancers of all ages and experience levels. In the Summer of 2025, she served as a teaching artist with the New York Film Academy at Harvard University. Additionally, Connie choreographed Aladdin and Hairspray with the Elysian Players in Morehead City. She is passionate about creating challenging, joyful, and expressive learning environments that help dancers grow in both skill and confidence. She has loved growing up dancing there, learning all the different forms of dance and performing on stage. Each role that she has received has challenged her in new and exciting ways. Natalie has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, tap, and contemporary. Her favorite form of dance is ballet and dancing en pointe. Natalie is currently a high school senior and is in the CNA program at her school. She plans on going to college for pediatric nursing while continuing to dance and teach dance. Her official ballet training began at the age of 6 in the Vaganova style under Marina Levesheva, along with many other styles of dance such as jazz, tap, contemporary, pointe, etc. She transitioned her training in Royal Academy Dance with exams, under the direction of Sue Peterson, levels Three ­– Advanced foundation. Kira has attended various summer intensive workshops including Atlanta Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Burklyn Ballet. As well as dancing as a soloist for Burklyn Ballet’s summer performances, Kira has performed with Burklyn Ballet for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has had the privilege of working with artists and choreographers such as Joanne Whitehill, Dylan Crossman, Thom Clower, Helen Star, Maria Konrad and many more. She is also the assistant director with Burklyn Ballet for the intermediate program during the summer. Kira has been an instructor for the Greensboro Ballet for 6 years and a ballet mistress for 3 years, also performing many different roles in their productions for over 9 years.
